It seems as the support for the Fish Fry here has died off, it has taken off in Bali. Nice to see.
“What’s half of a 9ft log? Why that’s 4.5ft, Well that sounds like a fish to me…”
The annual Deus Ex Machina 9ft
& Single Fest is scratching at our doorstep like a dog wanting to
come in from the rain, and we could not be more happy to let it in.
While in one of the now infamous “Think Tank” session (really just beers
in the shaping bay) someone’s wizmodic tongue spoke out to the group
and said, “What’s better than one day of logging and beers on the
beach?” We all looked towards the lone speaker in wonder, “three” he
said. And so it began the “9ft & Single, Art, Music & Log Fest”,
starting 7am Friday 31st with a good fashion “Fish Fry” this
year marks numero dos for the Deus Bali charter and you know it’s gonna
be held down at our local beach in Canggu. If it’s short, fat, wide,
quad or twin bring it down, ah hell why not, mini Simmons, logs,
bonzers, finless, and mid lengths or anything else of this ilk. For the
expression session is open to all, any fish you wish or slider you
desire, there is no right or wrong board in this open forum in the
waves. Good fun in the sun-n-sand (and a couple of cold brews if I know
the crew). Once we’ve “fried” enough for the day, the actions continues
up at The Temple with a gallery opening by our good friend and local
hero, Mr. Drew Wellman. So scrub up and put on some fresh duds and grace
our gallery halls and peer at the amazing art that will hang on our
walls.
As the evening continues, we will all
spill out to the back yard (remember there’s a bar and BBQ out there
now) where we will be premiering “Come hell or high water” Keith
Malloy’s new movie. All about the joys of body surfing. And that, will
be our segway to Saturday’s events as the “9ft & Single, Art, Music
& Log Fest” weekend continues…
Stay tuned my children of the earth, for this is just the beginning. The weekend of mayhems all gets under foot Friday the 31st and flows through Sunday the 2nd…
*And yes some words will be made up to describe the events at hand*
